I spent a week in Positano with my daughter, dayghter-in-law and her best friend. Spectacular! During the day, sometimes we did different tours. we were always together for dinner and breakfast. We went to the isle of Capri and they went to Pompeii. I cannot say enough about the people, the food and the wine. The views from our balconies will never be forgotten. Went back to Italy and stayed two weeks in Rome 9

OH I LOVE Positano!! Stayed there for 2 weeks MANY years ago and dined numerous times at a lovely restaurant just below our hotel down the cliff at the beach… Chez Black …. I mean this was ages and ages ago!
Looking at your photos made me feel nostalgic. Our hotel was Le Sirenuse and was amazing as well…. I have often thought of the restaurant and wondered if it was still there, gone or moved to a different location in Positano! Thanks for sharing all the photos!

Your Amalfi trip was wwonderful. 20 years ago I was married to an English wife who had a week long cooking school in Amalfi at the Luna Conventa, so after 3 years I was really able to enjoy Amalfi and the coasr. Your pictures of the coast brought back wonderful memories. Thank you.

Ms. Ali…this was by far the most lovely, well-written blog ever on a beautiful area of Italy. We’ve not been there, but felt I know it between the two of you…our daughter and son-in-law were there two years ago. We are great aficianados of Vincent Van Gogh and have visited Arles, Avignon and Aix, where he had walked, painted and was hospitalized along with Siena, Florence, Venice, Pisa and Milan for “The Last Supper”. We discovered Siena before many tourists did…thanks to reading Rick Steve’s travel books. But we also adore Spain and Barcelona, the market, the Sagrada Familia, LaRambla. North Spain is on our bucket list, but it doesn’t look too hopeful. I really want to go across and see the beautiful northern cities and dip down and do a mile of the Santiago. You are a delight. Happy to have found you. Am looking forward to trying many of your recipes!

I was in southern Italy last year. I wish I had known about Saraceno D’Oro. That ravioli looks delicious!
